Weekly Announcements from Pastor Valerie Brown-Greenly, Senior Pastor

Dear Friends,

Another busy week at Peace!  Hope you are doing well!  On Monday, October 10, we are hosting the COVID Updated Booster clinic, along with the flu vaccination.  If you would like an appointment, I need to hear from you today, as I will be sending the final numbers in on Thursday.  Simply text me or call my cell, 612.280.6393, and I will set you up with an appointment.  Both types of flu vaccine are available.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Confirmation and Spirit Time classes continue this Wednesday evening.  Supper will be served from 5:30pm – 6pm.  All are welcome.  Remember, Middle and High School youth group will be having a “Welcome Back Bonfire” tonight, October 4, 7:15 pm.  Also, please mark your calendars for Pumpkin Carving on Wednesday, October 26, during youth group time.

Confirmation Students are invited to help with Trunk or Treat on Halloween night, 5 pm-6:30 pm.  You can help distribute candy to the cars in our parking lot, and also encourage your families to host a car. This is a fun event, and we hope to have a lot of participation from our Middle and High School families!  Confirmation students can get service hours for participating on Halloween evening.

I invite our members and friends to host a car on Halloween night.  We hope to have a great turn out.  If you can’t host that evening, we would appreciate donations of bagged candy. We use the candy to “refill’ the cars throughout the event. Thanks for all of your help!

Saturday, October 8, is our Women’s Gathering here at Peace.  Please join us for an exciting day of connecting, worship, great speakers and presentations, food and fun!!  The day begins at 8 am, and runs until 4 pm. Lunch and snacks are provided. Hope to see you here!

This coming Sunday is our Farewell and Godspeed for Pastor Tim.  Pastor Tim has accepted a call to Portico and will be leaving us on Sunday, October 9.  If you are unable to attend and would like to send greetings, you can give your cards and well wishes to the Church Office and we will see that he gets them.  We wish Pastor Tim God’s blessings in his new call!

A message from Pastor Tim

It has been a pleasure serving with you these last few years.  As I prepare to move on to my next call at Portico Benefit Services, I am reminiscing about all the fun memories.  With the youth, we had overnight retreats, youth groups, bonfires, Feed My Starving Children, and confirmation classes.  The ministry with the rest of the congregation- Trunk or Treat, Worship Services, special music and concerts, Community Meals, Weekend Bazaars, Holiday food baskets, parking lot worship, Covid Vaccination Clinics and so much more.  Thank you for your continued support of your pastors and staff.  You all are a great community, supporting one another in the celebrations and woes of our lives together.  May God continue to bless you in the coming years, Chris & I will miss you!
Sincerely, Pastor Tim Schroeder

The Men of Peace are meeting after worship this Sunday, October 9.  They are excited to organize and plan the return of pancake breakfast on Sunday, November 6.  Look for Tony Murillo in the Fellowship Hall following worship!

It’s Stewardship Season!  Please continue prayers for our campaign, “Building for the Future,” as you discern your giving patterns for the coming year.  I’m excited about all the possibilities we have, and the many ministry goals that we will accomplish together!!
