Weekly Announcements from Pastor Valerie Brown-Greenly, Senior Pastor

Dear Friends,
Palm Sunday worship will be in the parking lot at 10:00am and also live streamed.  You will be invited to join in the palm procession after the reading of the Processional Gospel.  You are welcome to participate in worship in your cars or sing and participate outside your vehicle.
Easter Sunday worship will be in the parking lot at 10:00am and also live streamed.  Following worship, you are welcome to the Easter Bunny Experience.  There will be treat bags for children and some wrapped treats for adults.  We are not providing beverages, so bring a beverage with you to worship.
Lawn chairs are welcome at both the Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday parking lot worships.  When outside your vehicle, please mask at all times and practice social distancing.  On both of these Sundays, we will have the restrooms in the church available for you.  Please use the Fellowship Hall entrance (by the playground), so as not to disturb worship in progress.  Again, anytime you enter the building, which you are welcome to do, please make sure you are correctly masked.
This week is Holy Week.  Office hours for receiving offerings and other donations will be limited to Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 8:30am-Noon.  On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, there are vaccination clinics along with preparation and completion of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services.
Maundy Thursday worship will be live streamed at 6:30pm.  Good Friday worship will be uploaded to the website.  These are very meaningful worship experiences and I hope you will join us online for both of these services.
Looking ahead:
Please note the Church Office will be closed the Monday after Easter.  Office hours will be Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 8:30am-Noon.
There are no confirmation classes on the Wednesday after Easter.  In person classes will continue on Wednesday, April 14, according to the schedule.
On Sunday, April 11, the Minneapolis Area Synod will be providing worship.  It will be uploaded at 10:00am.  On Sunday, April 18, our worship will be live streamed.
Having received the mailing, you are aware we will begin a partial re-opening of worship on Sunday, April 25.  On Tuesday, April 20, there will be a sign-up-genius available on the website for you to make a reservation for worship.  The first Sunday of re-opening will be limited to 50 persons.  (There are two baptisms that morning and I did not add their guest count into the sign up).  As we return to worship on these Sundays, the sign-up-genius will be modified to allow for more participants to be able to sign up for in-person worship.  The numbers will continue to be increased as it seems reasonable, and if the covid rate continues to decrease in Anoka County, and if those participating are able to mask correctly.
Please note we won’t be visiting and gathering in the building before or after worship services.  If you are attending these first in-person services, you will enter the building after 9:45am.  You will be greeted, use hand sanitizer, and social distance yourselves in the Sanctuary.  When worship is complete, please leave the building.  You are welcome to social distance in the parking lot for conversation, etc.  Thank you for your patience and your cooperation.
If you have questions, please reach out.  I would enjoy visiting with you and making sure your experience in the weeks to come is comfortable and welcoming.  For those with no technical availability, (only individuals without computers or smartphones), please let me know.  I will make sure there is an opportunity for you to sign up and be present in worship on Sundays, since we have limited numbers.  For the rest of us signing up online, a reminder:  You cannot sign up for two Sundays in a row.  Let’s leave room for others to be able to return to worship.
On Memorial Day Weekend, a service from the Minneapolis Area Synod will be uploaded for 10:00am worship.
During the summer months, we will continue to increase our numbers in worship, and probably step away from the sign-up-genius.  I want us to use our beautiful sanctuary this summer and continue to gear up and move forward.  On Sunday June 13, we will begin having our coffee fellowship outdoors following worship services.  Hopefully, we will also plan a couple of outdoor picnics this summer so we can enjoy times of conversation and fellowship.
I hope to see many of you on Palm Sunday and on Easter Sunday.
God bless you!  Take care…be safe…
Pastor Valerie
