Weekly Announcements from Pastor Valerie Brown-Greenly, Senior Pastor

Dear Friends,
I hope you are doing well this week.  Many of you picked up the Lenten kits, and many of you were able to come in for forgiveness, absolution and the imposition of ashes on Ash Wednesday.  It was good to see you and do some catching up!
Beyond the vaccination clinics happening through our church, we are also into the Lenten season, and busy working on the Easter Holiday Baskets for our members, friends, and families in the school district.  Next week, office hours will return to normal: open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings for donation drop offs and for receiving offerings, 8:30am-Noon.  We so appreciate your flexibility and generosity.
Our Food Shelf needs include:  Boxed oatmeal packets, canned chicken, cooking soups, pancake mix and syrup, mac & cheese.  Thank you so much for your ongoing donations!
Confirmation classes return to in-person on Wednesday, March 3.  The 8th grade and 6th grade class will meet from 6:00pm-7:00pm.  Parents, please drop off students at the Preschool/Sunday School door of the building at 6:00pm and be there again at 7:00pm to pick them up.  Pastor Tim has sent out a schedule, and if you have any questions, please contact him.
Next week, I hope to share my plans/timeline for the beginnings of a partial re-opening.  It’s been a long journey, and like you, I miss being in worship together.  The plan is not for an immediate start.  We are in the last several weeks of meeting this goal.  Most certainly, Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday will be parking lot worship, with people outside their cars as they wish, doing some social distancing and masked singing and responding.  I will provide details and plans as the dates near.
We will continue to do as many first and second vaccination clinics as possible during these current weeks.  This has been an amazing ministry for the Mental Health Care Workers of Anoka County and their clients.  Many of the clients are living in group situations, and understandably, this is a game changer for them and for those who work and live with them.  What a better ministry during this COVID time, to be of service in our local community!
Here are the details for a wonderful event:
“Would you or a woman you know be interested in attending the “Day Set Apart Conference”?  This is a spiritual conference for women sponsored by University of Northwestern (home of KTIS), and it is 100% virtual this year.  Pam Tebow is the Key Note Speaker, plus there are six other workshop presenters who will encourage your heart with the hope, joy, and peace of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
We are working to sign-up as a group so we can take advantage of the discounted group rate for tickets.  The rate is $20/person.  Each attendee can join the conference’s Virtual Viewing party at 9:00am on Saturday, March 6, or watch the videos on their own schedule.  Access to the videos will be available from March 6 at 9:00am through March 31.
This sign-up link provides more information, a link to the conference site, and allows you to sign-up for our Peace group:

Members, friends, and family are welcome.  Deadline to sign up and pay the $20 is Sunday, February 28.  April Sneen is coordinating our group sign-up, so please email her at [email protected] or call/text (763-439-9636) her with questions.
As I close this email, please remember we do have our Zoom Bible Study this coming Wednesday morning, March 3, at 10:00am.  See you then.
Have a good week! God Bless You…Take care and be safe…
